At the Srečko Vilhar Central Library Koper, we are committed to developing information literacy in Slovenian public libraries, focusing on strengthening media, digital, and meta literacy. Our mission is to empower librarians, teachers, educators, and the wider public to critically evaluate information and recognize disinformation in today’s digital society.
What do we offer?
- Education and training: We organize lectures, workshops, and interactive activities for librarians and educators that promote the development of critical thinking as well as the safe and ethical use of digital tools.
- Educational tools: We have developed the game FulFejk for recognizing disinformation (in cooperation with PiNA and Oštro, with the support of the Ministry of Culture), as well as interactive worksheets and online quizzes, which are available on our website infoverzum.si.
- Professional support: We collaborate with national and international experts, enabling the transfer of good practices and the latest research findings in the field of media literacy.
- Research and development: We conduct research on media literacy in the library sector and publish scientific articles to improve professional knowledge and practices.
- Cooperation and networking: We connect with non-governmental organizations and educational institutions and participate in international projects such as The Glass Room, What the Future Wants, and MLCE, with the aim of promoting community learning and expanding media literacy.
